The Association promotes and maintains the purity of the Murray Grey Breed and aims to enshrine the original breeding qualities into the cattle registered on the Murray Grey Australia Breeders Association herd book.
The collegiate focus of the Association provides significant benefit with members providing willing support to one another in promotional activities, breeding and sales.
Characteristics Of Our Cattle
The focus of MGABA is to maintain the purity of our Murray Grey cattle so that they continue to display the original traits that brought them into prominence in the show ring and in carcass competitions.
Those original traits including docility, ease of calving and milk production remain dominant characteristics in the cattle bred by Murray Grey Australia Breeders association members.
Since 2017 MGABA has provided for the registration of Square Meaters. These cattle were originally sourced from registered, traditional Murray Grey herds. Breeders of these cattle are equally committed to the purity of the breed and compliance with the original registration criteria established by Ric Pisaturo.
The Murray Grey and Square Meaters are the Australian breed ideally suited to the Australian temperate climate.
